Wildcats Roll Over Bees 14-1

The West Genesee varsity lacrosse team cruised to a 14-1 victory over the visiting Baldwinsville Bees for their 16th victory of the season at West Genesee High school on an unseasonably frigid Wednesday night.

The Cats came out hot and stayed hot however when senior middie Brian Griffin took a pass from senior attackman Jeff Ryan and bounced a right hander in the goal past goalie Ryan Doyle for a 1-0 lead at 11:07. Genny made it 2-0 at 9:45 when senior attackman Tim Spillet gathered in a loose ball near mid field and ran in alone tucking the ball past the B'ville keeper. Spillet then added his second of the game at 7:15 on  a bounce shot with an assist from senior attackmate David Osier to go ahead 3-0. Ryan then made it 4-0 with a 10 yard shot with an assist to Spillett with 6:45 left to go. Spillett was at it again seconds later feeding senior middie Andrew Vecchio with a cross cage feed ending with Vecchio netting a goal and a 5-0 at the 6:17 mark. Osier and Ryan added the final two goals of the quarter to give the Cats a commanding 7-0 advantage.

Baldwinsville struck early in the second quarter getting their first and only goal of the game but would not have what it would take to comeback as the Cats dominated the remainder of the game outscoring B'ville 10 - 1.
