Cats Power Past Proctor 26-0

The West Genesee Wildcats captured their fifth game in a row 2-0 (5-0) on Friday night at Wildcat stadium with a 26-0 victory over Utica Proctor. Proctor a team comprised mostly of sophomores who battled valiantly all night against the Cats offense but weren’t able to stem the endless tide as Genny opened up the first quarter with a 13-0 run.

Senior attackman Tim Fetterly opened the scoring 1-0 just over 30 seconds in at 11:23 with an assist to senior captain and midfielder Luke Cometti. Cometti followed at 8:40 with a shot that trickled through the goalie’s legs with an assist to junior attackman Ike Hopper to make it 2-0. Genny used a man-up situation at 7:24 with a goal by sophomore midfield Johm Glesner with an assist to Cometti for a 3-0 lead. Less than a minute later at 6:34 it was Hopper from Fetterly for a 4-0 advantage. Junior midfielder Matt McCabe made it 5-0 with an assist to Glesner with 5:38 to go.Hopper would lead the way for the Cats in the remaining five plus minutes tacking on five goals and two assists.

The remainder of the game saw frequent substituting by the Cats as they spread their scoring out between 14 different players with Hopper leading the way with nine points, senior attackman Garrett Ryan with six and juniors Eric Mazzoni and Andrew (AJ) Luczka with five apiece.
