West Genesee Lady Wildcats have enjoyed great success recently
by winning New York State Class A Championships in 2001, 2002,
2003, 2007 and now 2008! In 2007, they were ranked #1 in the
Nation. The Lady Wildcats are disciplined, determined and dedicated
to continuing their winning ways under 9th year head coach Bob
Elmer in 2009. |

John
Pepper Tournaments Right Around the Corner
• The
2008 edition of the John Pepper Tournaments for youth and varsity level Wildcat
Invitational sponsored by STX are right around the corner. Mark your calendars
for Saturday,
July 26th (youth)
, and Sunday, August 3rd (Invitational).

| Divisions
of Competition: |
•
Boys Under 14, Under 12, Under 10 in an 10 on 10 (3-3-3-1
goalie) format
• Girls in H.S., Varsity(11-12), Junior varsity
(9-10), Modified (7-8) in a 8 on 8 format
• Teams will be scheduled based on their level
of experience to make the competition as fair and enjoyable
as possible for all.
• 8 teams per division (two 4 team brackets) |
| Eligibility: |
• Eligibility
is based on player age as of December 31, 2007.(boys)
• Eligibility for girls is based on upcoming fall
2008-09 school year.
• Both John Pepper Tournaments promote fair and
competitive competition. The participation of "Elite" or "All-Star" teams
is discouraged. |
| Rules
of Competition: |
Play will be tournament
style using modified rules (except for H.S. Girls);
with crowned champions. Games will consist of two
20-minute running time halves with a brief intermission.

| Number
of Games: |
Teams
registering will be scheduled for a minimum of three
games. Championship games will decide an overall
winner. T-shirts for champions. |
| Trainers: |
Professional
trainers are on site to tend to any injuries or conditioning
needs. |
| Registration
Deadline: |
The attached registration
form below should be completed for each team and
submitted by July 3rd, 2008. Roster Form should be
presented at game day sign-in. |
| Entry
Fee: |
The
fee per team for participation is $450 and must be
paid before the day of the event. Checks should be
made payable to the John Pepper Memorial Lacrosse
Fund and included with completed registration form. |
| Registration
Kit: |
Each
team registering will receive a registration kit
including game schedules, and rules upon check-in.
Game schedules will be posted at least one week prior
to the event dates to this website. |
Inclement
weather : |
In
the event of inclement weather the governing committee
reserves the right to postpone, alter schedules/format
or cancel games in the best interest and for the
safety of the participants and spectators in attendance.
Every effort will be put forth to accommodate the
planned full schedule of games within a reasonable
period of time to accommodate the needs of the officials
and participating teams. The John Pepper Lacrosse
Committee also reserves the right to cancel or postpone
the tournament in advance due to weather related
or other acts of God. |
| Facility
Rules : |
Tailgating
including barbeque grills are not allowed at the
facility. The on-site Athletic Fields consession
stand offers a wide variety of options to choose
from. Pets are not allowed at the Athlethic Fields. |

Directions:
For those that never have been to the West Genesee
Athletic fields, The fields are located on Pottery
Road off route 173 in Camillus. Please use the following
directions:
From the east (or from Route 690) Take the 695
extension from the New York State Fairgrounds towards
Camillus/Auburn and exit at the Hinsdale Rd. exit. At
the bottom of the ramp take a right. (the fields
are 2 miles from here) Proceed on Hinsdale Rd.
until it ends (about a half mile) at Rt. 173 (Warners
Rd.) and take a left. Proceed about 1.5 miles on
173 and turn right on Pottery Rd. The fields
are .25 miles up on the left.
From NYS Thruway (I90). Exit at exit 39 Baldwinsville.
Proceed to Route 690 East on ramp and stay to the
right (you will be on it only for a few hundred
yards) Exit immediately at the Jones Road exit.
At the end of the ramp turn left on Jones Road. Proceed
to the next traffic light at Van Buren Rd. and
take a left. Proceed back over the Thruway and
take the first right on Hermann Rd. which is just
over the bridge. Proceed down and up a hill and
at the crest you will come to Pottery Rd. Take
a left and proceed approx. 2 miles (the fields
will be on your right after you cross the railroad
tracks) |

West Genesee Lady Wildcats(24-0) who captured
their 5th NYS Girls Lacrosse title with a
hard fought 13-12 victory over the Farmingdale
Dalers on Saturday, JUne 14th on the SUNY
Cortland campus. The Lady 'Cats were paced
by the 5 points each from seniors Ariel Kramer
and Laren Welch with captain Kiersten Tupper chipping
3 assists to break the all time team and

who was named to play in this years Under Armour All-America Classic in Baltimore
on June 16th. Kelly is one of 22 players suiting up for the North squad with

Tupper Ranked 5th in Country
•Kiersten Tupper is currently ranked 5th in the
country. Put out by Sports Illustrated, www.takkle.com currently
lists the top 100 girls High School lacrosse players. The top 50 players in every
major city were submitted by local coaches. Congratulations to Kiersten
on making this list!

to the 2008 Lady Wildcats in running the table and finishing
the regular season 18-0!
2008
John Pepper Memorial Lacrosse Tournament and
Third Annual Wildcat Invitational Taking Registrations!
• Registrations
are being accepted for the seventh annual John Pepper
Lacrosse Tournament and third annual Lady Wildcat Invitational.
Both tournaments will be held the weekend of July 26th
and 27th at the West Genesee Athletic Club Fields in
Camillus. The John Pepper tournament will feature girls
divisions for modified (grades 7-8) and JV (grades 9-10)
on Saturday July 26th, 2008. The annual tournament is
held in honor of former West Genesee boys JV lacrosse
player John Pepper who died in 2001.
The third annual Lady Wildcat Invitational will take place
on Sunday July 27th and feature 16 of the the best varsity programs
throughout the state and region. Click here for a downloadable registration
